AMMC

This blog will feature whatever I'm currently interested in at the moment. There will be no main theme to it what-so-ever really, as I can be pretty flighty about current interests. Good thing I'll never be tumblr famous... or famous for that matter XD

I say this having played Vesperia first, even though I knew everything that happened in Abyss from the start. Thing is, while Yuri is an awesome character, he doesn’t really grow. But Luke does, and goes through many lessons in his time, and changes.
I don’t know, I just like Luke better.

i love looking through the confession blog
hello tumblr user theammc~! i hope you’re doing well and don’t mind me adding in on your commentary to what i assume is your confession
thing is yuri’s development is very subtle. he goes from being more easy going in the beginning, to dark and severe in the middle because of his solo lil justice spree (and adopting the belief that if there’s something harmful it has to be killed off for the good of the many which he was unyielding about), to becoming softer because even though he has ended lives he has saved many even though they caused harm(i don’t know about you but i was legitimately afraid he was going to kill estelle on my first play through because he said he was prepared to do it and he’s killed before and i just agsshshggag)
plus they don’t shove it down your throat which i think it’s brilliant~ because you never know exactly what yuri’s thinking and moreover he doesnt want you to, while luke has a diary and numerous monologues about his thoughts and struggles…
it’s sneaky, i love it. luke is a nice protag though, but i played vesperia first too and i never was too fond of abyss
dems the breaks

Oh add on! I don’t mind at all XD No, it wasn’t my own confession, I just saw it an agreed with it. I’m certain there are many others like yourself who prefer Yuri to Luke in terms of protagonists.
I most definetely concede that Yuri’s development was subtle, which is beautiful in itself. And, without a doubt, Yuri is a complete and utter badass. (Yeah, I was terrified that he would legitimately try to kill Estelle too. I mean, I was pretty sure he wouldn’t, it’s not that kind of game, but I was pretty sure he would try.)
But with Luke, I don’t know, I connected with him, and truly enjoyed watching him grow and become a better person. The fact that he wanted to atone for what he had done, to try to figure out who he was among it all. All of that made me love Luke, making him my favourite protagnist.
Although, I feel that I should stress that, despite the what the confession says, I don’t think Luke is a “way” better protagonist than Yuri. He’s just the one I prefer.
(Also, awesome background! Junpei was my favourite out of all the characters, and his commentary could be so funny XD)
